JEFFERSON AIRPLANE ~ TAKES OFF RCA 184789 ~ USA ~ Classic Rock 1st album from 1966. Jefferson Airplane were one of the most important groups in the history of rock and `inventors` of the psychedelic genre. The debut album is the only one that features the singer Signe Anderson, later to be replaced by the legendary Grace Slick. This early effort lacks somewhat in intensity, compared to the explosion of creativity demonstrated on the later releases, but is an important document in the development of the group.
