This is an album by the Austrian Jazz trio comprising of saxophonist / clarinetist / flautist Gerald SeligFind albums by this artist, pianist Andreas MayerhoferFind albums by this artist and drummer Gerald EndstrasserFind albums by this artist. The album presents eight tracks, three of which are original compositions by Mayerhofer, one is by Selig, one is by Egberto GismontiFind albums by this artist and the remaining three are interpretations of Classical pieces. All the music was arranged by Mayerhofer.
The music is a pleasant Jazz / Jazz-Classical Fusion on the lighter side of the Jazz spectrum, excellently performed by the trio members, but not really innovative or challenging, rather belonging to the “music to drive by” category. The Classical arrangements are somewhat more interesting, but not enough to categorize this as a Jazz album.
Overall, this a pleasant, very melodic album, which is a perfect background music for any occasion, well performed but not interesting enough for serious listeners.
