GRUZOVIK & KRUZENSHTERN ~ MELEKH (LIMITED EDITION)
AURIS 013 (Barcode: 7290011216139) ~ ISRAEL ~ Progressive Rock

Recorded: 2006 Released: 2008

The Israeli experimental Rock ensemble Kruzenshtern & ParahodFind albums by this artist are definitely a completely unique phenomenon on a world scale. Unbound by any preconceptions, they create a mixture of cross-pollinated Avant-Garde music, with Rock, Jazz and folklore serving as the basic building stones, and intelligence and ingenuity serving as the cement. This completely improvised session was recorded by the combined personnel of Kruzenshtern & Parahod (led by Igor KrutogolovFind albums by this artist) and the Ukrainian experimental band GruzovikFind albums by this artist, which visited Israel at the time. Although completely spontaneous, the music creates the impression that the musicians played together for ages. The only drawback is the short timing of this album (EP size), but the music captures a unique moment and is an important document of the local scene. Those listeners, who are already familiar with the work of Kruzenshtern & Parahod, will undoubtedly want to put their hands on this release as well.

KRUZENSHTERN & PAROHOD ~ THE CRAFT OF PRIMITIVE KLEZMER (REISSUE EDITION)
AURIS 001 (Barcode: 7290011216016) ~ ISRAEL ~ Progressive Rock

Recorded: 2003 Released: 2008

1st album by this extraordinary Israeli trio Kruzenshtern & ParahodFind albums by this artist, which plays the strangest ever mixture of klezmer, avan-rock, RIO and jazz. The basic instruments are clarinet, bass and drums, but between them they play quite a few other instruments (and toys) and a few guest musicians are present. Led by Igor KrutogolovFind albums by this artist (as the name suggests - an Israeli immigrant from ex-Soviet soil), who writes most of the music. This amazing music floats in between John ZornFind albums by this artist, 5UU`sFind albums by this artist and Hassidic New WaveFind albums by this artist. Probably one of the best things to happen (musically) in Israel in a long while. The reissue edition presents the album in new artwork and digipack format.
