This is the 2nd album by Polish vocalist / keyboardist / saxophonist / songwriter Jadzka KlapaFind albums by this artist (a.k.a. The album presents thirteen tracks, eight composed by Klapa and five by Beeuwsaert.
The music is as eclectic and every bit as wonderful as Klapa’s sensational debut, perhaps slightly more oriented towards Classical Music vistas, probably as a result of the more dominant presence of the Atoms, but freely borrowing from Folklore, Jazz and a myriad of other influences. The result is complex, yet embraceable, delicate, yet overwhelming, is short a kind of “total” music, which either completely wins the listener over, or is otherwise beyond the reach.
Everything I wrote about the debut album “Punt StykuFind albums with this title” still very much holds true in this case, which makes me very happy, since the “second album syndrome” was crossed with honors. I have no idea how the album did on the local Polish scene, but I admit I have not heard much about it, which sadly probably proves again the “being too good for its own good” theory. Don’t you worry My Lady, those who truly deserve your music will discover it eventually. You just watch over your Lion’s den, and keep the music coming.
Overall, this is another highly emotional, brilliant and superbly aesthetic album by Klapa and her friends / musical partners, which ignores conventions and manages to build up epic stories using simple tools, sparkled with talent and inspiration. Thank you for your music!
