BROAD PEAK ~ DYWIZJE WILKOW
AUDIO CAVE 2022/006 (Barcode: 5908298549452) ~ POLAND ~ Avant-Garde Rock

Recorded: 2022 Released: 2022

This is the second album by Polish Avant-Garde Rock duo Broad PeakFind albums by this artist, which comprises of vocalist Patrycja HefczynskaFind albums by this artist and multi-instrumentalist Michal ZygmuntFind albums by this artist. The album presents ten original songs, all co-composed by the duo members, with lyrics (except for one case) by Hefczynska.

The music is minimalist to the extreme, with simple melodic themes, mostly acoustic instrumentation and environmental sound-effects emphasizing the concept of the album, which is all about the contact with Nature, and which of course is also expressed in the lyrics.

Despite the limited means, the music is able to generate a very powerful and penetrating message, both on the aural and conceptual plane. Attentive listener needs to get involved in the creative process, not only by absorbing the music but also by supplementing the skeletal structures by his own impressions and reactions, which of course if the highest form of coexistence between what the Artists created and their audience. Although the album is only slightly over thirty minutes in duration, i.e. an EP rather than a full album, the contents delivers a satisfactory amount of experiences, like a condensed dosage of intellectual stimulation.

Overall, this is a highly unusual, interesting and engrossing piece of music, which is bold and expressive, despite its seemingly modest means of expression. Highly recommended to listeners, who are looking for adventures rather than taking the well-trodden path.
