This is the debut album by international Jazz quartet, co-led by American bassist / composer Russell SnyderFind albums by this artist and Polish (resident in Germany) saxophonist Slawek DudarFind albums by this artist, which also includes German pianist Michael FlugelFind albums by this artist and Polish (also resident in Germany) drummer Pawel CzubatkaFind albums by this artist. The album presents seven tracks, all of which are original compositions by Snyder.
The music is deeply rooted in Mainstream Jazz, and although based on solid melodic compositions, offers little excitement of innovation to Jazz lovers, who heard countless quite similar albums in the past. The level of the performances is highly professional, especially Flugel’s piano parts and the impressive bass pulsations by the leader, who solos on every track, which is, with all due respect, a bit over the top.
Overall, this is a very standard / ordinary / typical mainstream Jazz album, with nice tunes and professional performances, but sort of lackluster, and for people with serious Jazz record collections it offers nothing new or especially exciting.
