BRIAN WILSON ~ IN THE KEY OF DISNEY
DISNEY 5099967988921 (Barcode: 5099967988921) ~ USA ~ Classic Rock

Recorded: 2011 Released: 2011

This is a highly unusual album by American singer / songwriter Brian WilsonFind albums by this artist, founder and leader of the legendary Beach BoysFind albums by this artist and one of the most iconic American Pop / Rock songwriters. The album is a tribute to the iconic American filmmaker Walt DisneyFind albums by this artist, and offers a remake / reimagining of eleven soundtracks of classic Disney films. Wilson arranged the music and sings the lead vocals, and he is supported by a big team of studio musicians and background vocalists.

This music is of course the soundtrack of our lives, since all of us veterans grew up watching the Disney movies during our childhood, and then re-watched them again with our children and then once again with our grand-children. This music is simply eternal and deserves to be heard again and again, and stands proudly alone even without the movies behind it, which is again a proof of Disney’s genius.

Wilson modernizes the sound and feel of the music and brilliantly arranges the vocals, and then performs the entire thing with talent and power only he knows how. He takes the entire affair into the usual Beach Boys / Brian Wilson universe, and yes I am somewhat biased and sentimental, but come on – this music is simply irresistible!

Overall, this is a wonderful idea and a great piece of music, which can be enjoyed probably by everybody on this planet. Just give in to the fun and start shaking your bottom! Then listen to the album and enjoy the finesse and Art behind it…
