KEVIN AYERS ~ JOY OF A TOY (EXPANDED EDITION)
HARVEST 584352 ~ UK ~ Canterbury Scene

Recorded: 1969

1st album by one of UK`s most enigmatic and talented artists. Co-founder of Wilde FlowersFind albums by this artist and later Soft MachineFind albums by this artist, Kevin AyersFind albums by this artist was both a superb composer and lyricist. His solo albums are much different from the work he did with his Canterbury cohorts, being very bemused, lyrical and relaxed musically, but rich in content. On this album all famous Canterbury musicians play alongside with Ayers.

BRIAN HOPPER ~ IF EVER I AM
VOICEPRINT 338 ~ UK ~ Canterbury Scene

Every new project by a legendary Canterbury musician is of interest, but when the project involves re-recording some of the music played by the "mother" band of the Canterbury scene - the Wilde FlowersFind albums by this artist - it is even more so. Although Brian HooperFind albums by this artist did not manage to get all the original members of the Wilde Flowers in one place and at the same time, nevertheless he did manage to get them to play here, including other legends like Robert WyattFind albums by this artist and his brother Hugh HopperFind albums by this artist. Some of the remaining music is more conteporary, but fits in well stylistically. This is challenging music, but deeply rewarding!

WILDE FLOWERS ~ THE WILDE FLOWERS
BLUEPRINT 123 ~ UK ~ Canterbury Scene

Wilde FlowersFind albums by this artist were the legendary group that `started` the so called Canterbury scene. This album collects all their available recordings from the years 1965-1969 and privides an essential historical record of the beginnings of the scene.
